[Click] This table lamp is approximately 10" in height, 20" in width, and 7" in depth. The base is of solid recycled barn timber. The species is ash but because of the age and previous life of the material, it has acquired a rich, gold patina. There are nearly two hundred growth rings visible just in this small piece and the barn it was from was built about two hundred years ago. That puts it at about 400 years old!
The “arms” that hold the shade are ash too but don’t have as an unusual history. Each is held in the base by a sliding dovetail that is re-enforced with stainless steel screws set deep into a counterbore. All of the wood is finished with a non-toxic, food safe linseed oil based finish.
The shade is simply flexed and then popped into place on top of the arms. The light source is a pre-wired, UL approved halogen “hockey puck” style cabinet light. You simply insert the light and it is ready to go.
The lamp in the photos is a prototype. I have material on hand for only a few more. |
